A guest in the mountain
Here the mountain is not a playground; it is a guest room, and we behave like guests. The courses touch four natural sanctuaries: Lady’s Rocks, the Moara Dracului Gorge, the Slătioara Forest and the Pietrosu Bistriței peak. Each rises from another age: limestone towers, a canyon that hums with water, beech trees older than written history, a crag that glows pink at dawn. We walk them lightly, on existing shepherd paths and ridge lines, and we ask you to stay on the trail and take every gel wrap home. Footsteps fade; legends remain.
Gourmet Aid Stations
Energy tastes like home. At selected aid stations along the course, live-cooking kiosks open into Gourmet Points. Smoked-trout quesadillas sizzle beside cauldrons of sour mushroom broth. Everything is sourced within 80 km and cooked on site, and the leftovers travel to local shelters.
Eco-Smart Markings
Finding your way should never scar the mountain. The courses are marked with reusable tape, recyclable arrows and small night blinkers; no paint touches rock or bark, and sweepers collect every marker before the forest wakes.
Sensitive Areas:
You are kindly requested to stay on the main trail in order to preserve the natural environment that you are running through, to avoid increased erosion and disturbing flora and fauna.
WASTE MANAGEMENT AND REFRESHMENTS
RESPONSIBLE PURCHASING
We prioritize local products to avoid unnecessary transport and to support local businesses. Refreshments are regionally sourced and organic farming is favored.
INDIVIDUAL CUPS AND CUTLERY
Here, plastic has no legend. Every runner carries a collapsible cup, and the crews pour water, isotonic or broth only into it. No single-use cups, no PET bottles.
Shared Wheels, Smaller Footprint
Dropping out does not mean exile. Shuttle vans loop from various aid stations back to Câmpulung Moldovenesc, and on Sunday buses run to Alpin Rarău for the Rumble Rock start and bring spectators back to town. Companions ride free if a seat remains. Fewer private engines mean quieter valleys and cleaner air for the last climb.
